I was making crepe shells one day, and messed up by dehydrating them too much. Not really sure what was going through my mind, but I put the mess-up crepes into the fridge to try to do something else with them later. What I discovered was that the cold made the shells super crispy. I let one of them thaw back to room temperature so I could form it into a cone shape, then re-chill to see what would happen. My experiment worked! I filled the crispy cone with banana ice cream, and was floored by how amazing the result was. I discovered an amazing single-ingredient ice cream cone made entirely from fruit...
Blend 3 fresh, spotted bananas (do not add water!) into a thick batter, then pour onto dehydrator sheets like pancakes. Dehydrate fully (about 8 hours), then gently peel away from sheet. Form into cone shape with rougher side on the outside, then *freeze* once shaped. Chilling the cone will make it super crispy, just like common cooked cones. Fill with blended banana ice cream, made from frozen and fresh spotted bananas (3 frozen + 1 fresh = single serving). Use a high powered blender (vitamix recommend) or food processor to blend ice cream. Once the ice cream is added into the cone, the coldness maintains crispiness.
Be sure to always eat all fruit ripe for optimal results.
